More low impact development? We think yes!

Updated: Nov 14, 2018

Back in 2011, our office worked on a low impact development (LID) project for the City of Palmetto, implementing a strategy for storm water attenuation in an urban setting without the use of traditional ponds and pipes. Passionate about urban design, our team's principal architect Charlie Ugarte saw the need for a "more integrated and sustainable approach to redevelopment of downtown Palmetto, Florida.

The Ugarte + Associates office coordinated with Ekistics Design Studio, Inc. and the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency to create a multi-modal, green solution integrating landscaping with pervious hardscape, bringing this idea to life.
